If your going to change the coils (springs) just get some that
give you 2" more that way you will have the axle travel also.
No need for spacers.

In the long run it would be better but you don't have to.
To get the full axle travel you will need to get longer brake lines
2" for 2" lift. The brake lines should be changed every ten years.
You can get the lines for about $120.

Just buy some 2" coils, when you can aord it and want the full articulation get the shocks and brake lines. DAP sell stainless ones at a good price.

On a 95 D1, you can do a 2" lift without brake lines or ABS lines without a problem, you should do shocks at the same time, no since running new springs with dead shocks.
Who's springs are you going to use?
http://www.expeditionexchange.com/ is a good place for OME's
http://www.rovertym.com/ is a good place to look for springs also
Don't use any spacers and don't forget to buy a new steering stabilizer to keep you going down the road staright.

4"s won't work with most Rovers unless you want to literialy spend a fortune in replacing parts. If you have a DII you can do 3"s then you have to change out the radius arms, ABS lines, extended shocks, drive line modifications and the list goes on. Spacers will give you a lift on a weak suspension which is not a good combination off the road. When doing springs, you need to do shock at the same time or you will not be able to control the ride of the new coils.
Do yourself a favor, wait till you can afford springs and shock and have a friend elp you install them to save on labor, the end results will be great.

Save the cash and buy coils, you can get coils for around 200 bucks and get 2 or 3 inch lift, stay at 3" any mor nd you need to replace more stuff. some do some don't. get what you want when you can afford it, buying what you really don't want then replacing it later will just cost more green. look up DAP on the internet.

By "replacing parts" do you mean that as a constant need to replace, or as a one time thing when the lift is purchased and installed?
