Default Lift with springs only

Can I get a mild lift 1"-2" by just swapping out springs or do I need new shocks as well? The disco I bought has new dampers so they aren't old and worn.

Yes, but when I put new springs on existing newish (10k miles on Bilsteins) shocks it did not work so well.

the shocks apparently got used to the lower ride and did nothing once lifted past their previous operating range.

I ended up having to buy new shocks again.

You can achieve a 2" spring lift while retaining stock shocks, but you will not have much extension room from there.

This is a street driven toy to go to work and haul the dog around. It will probably never seen any off road unless we see a blizzard.

You will most likely want some Medium Duty Springs then to retain a comfortable daily drive.

No matter what springs you put under these things it will ride like a wagon on concrete wheels. I have gone through a couple different setups and the best was on a RR Classic with RTE springs and OME shocks BUT it had some pretty soft 33" skinnies. Now I say best because all four wheels were usually on the ground during normal city driving but a pothole could send you into the next lane.

The absolute worst as far as ride quality is on my DII, RTE 3" springs with Terra Firma+ shocks. The RTE's give way more than 3" and are inexpensive compared to OME. BUT the Terra Firma shocks are garbage.

The best ride I've had is with stock springs and Bilstein shocks. My current setup is bouncy. However since gas prices are down I can keep the tank full more often and it does ride better then.

The OME MD with Nitrocharger setup and no extra heavy duty add on parts or BBW's on board it bounces off of bumps in the road, there is no absorption happening at all.

Lucky 8 sells stock springs.
