X2 for tires being balanced. That is most likely what it is.

I have always been told by various people to get an alignment after you install a lift, both by the dealer and other rover owners. Not sure if there was truth to it. but yeah, it must be the combination of the stabilizer and tires being balanced. My truck vibrated pretty bad, i had to get my tires balanced 3 times. They just wouldn't do it right.

 

CDL instructions sent ... let me know what you think.

Could I get you to send me the CDL instructions? I was off-roading in my DII and the tire spin was killing me out here in SoCal. A CDL would have completely prevented that. I am looking to install a used shifter with the CDL link onto my currrent rig. Going to do something very, very similar to what was completed by gilder. By the way, that truck looks awful nice Gilder!

Don't waste your time and money on an alignment that is not needed, all you have is a toe setting a Disco and it is in no way effected by a lift.

 

Ok, the new steering stabilizer arrived this afternoon and made a huge difference, but there is still a slight steering wheel shimmy between 60 and 68. I'm going back and have them re-balance the tires and hand-torque - had to use a cheater bar to get the nuts off when I was swapping tires around. That really chaps my *** .....

I didn't have my truck aligned after my lift and I have no problems. You can definitely tell the truck likes to follow the grooves in the highway but it's not bad and you get used to it really quick.

 

Make sure they torque the wheels to 103 foot pounds of torque. If it doesn't go away I would make the replace the two front tires until you find the right combination.

 

I have a 3inch lift on my 98, I went through all kinds of stuff trying to locate each shake, shimmy, and vibration. In the end a set of matching Rover Tyme raduis arms corrected everything. When you lift your truck it raises the pinion angle slightly, that in turn will cause a slight vibration from your front driveshaft. The vibration can be noticable at different speeds.
