Default Lifters Tapping

I've already replaced the valley pan gasket as well as the two gaskets at the front and back of the valley pan gasket. I also did the valve cover gaskets since I was in there already. There are no leaks now, but my lifters are tapping. I had the engine flushed and new oil put in yesterday and it runs great but the lifters or possibly the rocker arms are tapping now. Any suggestions? It wasn't doing it right at first but when it got warmed up it started.

I am dealing with the same issue right now as well. Cold and full temp, it doesn't make a sound, but middle temps, it ticks on and off....

I was suggested to look at the little caps on the rocker arms that the pushrods seat into. Hate to tell you to pull the valve covers again, but it might be a place to start. See if they are loose....

Year and mileage on the noisey engine, how often do you change your oil and what did you flush it with?

Keep this in mind. If you have SAI and when you had things off you put any pressure at all on the pipes leading to the head, you may have a tiny crack in it. If there's any crack there at all you'll get a loud tappet sound when you put the throttle down. Something to check for since the lifters are hydraulic and if it's been maintained shouldn't be noisy until about 100,000km. If there is no leak, and you're running fossil oil, then try doing an ATF flush and then switching to Mobil 1 (or similar) and changing it on a short-schedule for a change or two (check colour every 1000km change when black) since you may have loaded up your lifters with sludge.

Make sure you flush your engine good, then drop the pan, clean it out as well as the oil pick up tube.

should i just buy another oil pump or look at things first? Could something just be clogged? I had this done about 2 years ago by the dealership so I can't imagine the pump crapping out this fast unless they didn't put a new one on.
