Default lights for safety devices roof rack question

I want to put some lights on my roof rack. I had put some cheaper ones on (they were bought as a gift) and when I turned them on I was blinded by the reflection on the hood/ windshield and couldn't see in front of me, let alone down the road. No matter how high or low i aimed them i couldnt see. These were driving lights. I am looking for something with a more focused beam so I don't get blinded whem I turn them on. Any suggestions on a good set of loghts that won't cost an arm or a leg?

Sounds like you need a hood blackout kit.

Or you could just paint it...

You need th Vigg blackout hood kit. It will help reduce the light reflection.

Thinking of a flat or satin black so there's no gloss to make the light reflect as much

You need to buy lights, be it spots or driving lights that have lens designed to be more then 6 feet off the ground, and they are not cheap. If you go the cheap way, all you will have are useless lights, that might look cool but don't do anything for night runs.
Might go to Atlantic British and do a search or lights, check out the Hella 4000's for starters.
