Default Lightweight lug nuts

I saw an ad on ebay for these, but I'm not about to buy something like this off of ebay unless someone out there has a positive reco. Anyone ever buy or use lightweight lugs? I have not taken a wheel off this car yet, but I have heard the lugs weigh a ton.

Thanks,

Chris

I would really stay away from them, you have too much wheel flex even with the factory lugs torqued to 110 foot pounds.

I've never heard of wheel flex, what is that? Anyone know the weight of a stock lug? I'm thinking if I can save 1-2lbs. per wheel it will certainly be worth a $100 or so.

You're already lugging around +4700lbs with the Disco, what difference would 8lbs make?

I'm just curious, what type of advantage are you looking for in putting lightweight lug nuts on?

8 lbs of unsprung weight is huge! Acceleration would be improved just by this little bit of weight reduction, possibly MPG as well. What's the harm?

WHAT A GEARHEAD !!!!!!

I love it, I did it on my car with the wheels and tires and it did make a difference
with light weight things.
On a Rover anything thats makes them faster is a good thing.

From one GEARHEAD to another GEARHEAD do it and have Fun.

Yeah, if it was 8lbs on one wheel... two is more like cutting 6-8 per wheel from the body.... considering they hang about a 50lb weight off the rear diff to attenuate driveline vibration....
