Pre facelift headlights leave much to be desired
Facelift headlights did much better but due to fade they constantly needed attention. Polyglow actually lasted the longest but still, attention every 2-4 months. Not willing to pay 1k or more for new headlights... This is the backing framework

Still have some tweaking to do to align her around the top right corner. Also need to find a trim ring to cover the headlight side gap .Outboard mounted to give more adjustment back towards center.

Ran out of sunlight. Probably 50% brighter than the led bulbs in the facelift housing.

IMO, not blasphemy as the stock headlights are a joke and DIY is awesome!

I used this kit: https://www.ultraflex4x4.com/ecommer...roducts_id/201

and for headlights: Philips H6024LED

I wanted to get those it I had already done the face lift conversion so no adjustment bracket left. The headlight was held in with zip ties on the driver's side when we purchased her. Had some body damage . Bought a facelift parts disco for repairs.

Looks great dude!

I did something very similar a few years back. I took a set of pre-facelift headlights that were cracked and took the glass out, bolted a piece of sheet metal to it, and then a set of generic (5"x7" I think?) headlights for an XJ. Very ugly close-up, but they looked great from 20 feet lol.
