The fuel filter is non-servicable. You replace it when you replace the fuel pump.

Default RE: Fuel? related misfire

I had a misfire problem on my 02 Disco2 (around 90k miles). Could only manage around 60/70 km/h on the level and sometimes cut out completely when going uphill. As I came here for a"couple of weeks" work (now running to 3 months)I didn't bring my rovacom so have had to use the local dealer. (certainly won't come without it again!)

I don't believe in coincidences and the problem occured a few minutes and no more than 10km after filling up with fuel. The pump at the fuel station wasunbelievably slow and I think might have been pulling sediment and/or water from the bottom of their tank.

The dealer (stealer I believe they are usually called on here) only wants to replace plugs, leads and coils at great expense despite my explaining the background to the problem. Looks like he's working on a trial and error basis. Anyone any other thoughts?

Well if youi think that you have gotten bad gas then switch gas stations.
If the other gas pump runs slow also then you have a different issue.

Nitetrain-No, DII's do not have a fuel filter, except on the TD5.

Viking-If you have a gas DI then yes, you have a in-line fuel filter. It is located behind the right rear wheel bolted to the frame.
A in-line fuel filter is a fuel filter that is in the fuel line, meaning the fuel line comes "in" one end of the filter and out the other end.
You can buy the fuel filter at any autoparts store.
Or here, http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/ESR4065.cfm
I first bought the fuel filter kit for my truck because the filter wouldnt come off, http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/8989.cfm, now I change my fuel filter every spring and buy it from AutoZone and it is a 15 min job.
