Location of the trans fill plug
Can anyone please tell me the location of the transmission fill plug on a 99 LR Disco II. Thanks......I've looked through all the threads decribing what to do when I find it....I just don't know where to look.....Thanks
It's located on the transmission oil pan on the front. The drain plug is under ( of course )and the fill plug is in line with it on the front of the pan.
Are you just topping the tranny off or are you going to service it? Do you know the process to topping off the tranny?
If you are wanting to service it, you don't need to replace the filter but should but an additive, like Lucas, in to help maintain the tranny.
The plug is on the tranny pan along with the drain plug.

I think I need to top it off....I'm getting a clicking noise, and oil drip on the driveway. I keep checking the oil (dipstick) and it is holding at full so I'm thinking I have some leaking from the trany - does that symptom sound like the trany? ( Ihave 80K miles on it)
If you are getting a clicking sound then you better call me cause it ain't the tranny, your front drive shaft is failing.
