Default locked in truck

Hello I have a 01 disco 2, my key fob is broken but key still works, On Friday I unlocked the truck and got in. I locked the doors with the button on the dash and tryed to start the truck. It wouldn't start, so I tryed to open the doors and they would not open with me pulling on the door handle. I tryed starting it again and still nothing. I finally play with the key in the ignition and power can back to open door. Is this a electrical problem or alarm problem. Has anyone had this happen to them.
Thanks
Greg

Your driver's side locking mechanism in the driver's side door has failed.
Put in a new locking mechanism into the driver's door.
The lock position sensors in that mech tell the rover if the door is locked or not.
Yours is reporting false information and confusing the locking system.
Just replace it.

And maybe get a Key FOB to work with the truck too.
That makes life better.
