Question Lookin to lift

hey i was thinking about putting a 2" lift on my 03 Disco SE and i was wondering how the lift affects the top-heaviness/rollability. im a noob, but just curious. would it be necessary or wise to widen the wheel base?
thanks for the help

yeah it'll raise the COG (center of gravity) some...just avoid high speed maneuvers..as you always should with a disco. You can widen the wheel base with wheel spacers but I wouldn't advise doing that.

Do you want this lift for "show" or "go?" In other words, are you going to off-road with it?

don't widen the wheel base. don't make sharp turns at 20+mph and you wont roll with or without a lift.

Go with HD springs and shocks and you won't even notice the change in center of gravity. If anything my truck felt more stable after the lift than on the stock springs.

Whether the 2 or 3 inch lift you will be ok as far as stability goes as long as you keep your front and rear sway bars attached. If you disconnect them you will of course have issues on the road - hence the quick disconnect kits available from several manufacturers. I went with RTE's HD 2 inch lift - I'm sure the OME is similar. Either is good - I'd steer clear of anything else. Enjoy!

You know you don't have a CDL or locked diffs so your wheeling is limited.
I would suggest you get your front drive shaft rebuilt first, before it breaks and takes out your tranny, then look at some sliders and some diff guards. That along with some good tire, a lift and eventially a CDL and lockers, then you will be ready for some of those trails you have in your state.

I had a medium OME lift, and it handled much better with the stiffer springs.
