Default Looking @ 1996 Disco

http://fayar.craigslist.org/bar/1359280382.html

Ok, looking at this Disco but I have serious questions for the owner. I ran the VIN and a odometer rollback/tamper flag was raised. The seller swears that it must be a typing error and I don't know if I believe him.

I asked him why a 13 year LR has only 111k (8,500/year average). He said he bought it from a Doctor who used it as a third car. I asked if I could call the doctor and there was a long pause but he did say "feel free to give him a call".

Not sure what all this Disco needs as far as repairs but I am thinking about going out and taking a look. I will take pictures and post some things so if you guys can give fast feedback (if you're available), that would be great.

Should be heading over to see the LR about noon central time.

My luck has not been good thus far so we'll see what happens with this one.

111k isn't out of the ordinary for a 96. My 97 only had 118k on it.

I see what you're saying but I still want to talk to the Doctor to confirm. The seller has yet to provide me with the doctor's number.

Passed on this one. His price is too high for all that needs to be repaired.

Next..

PANCHO has 50,000 miles on his '94, one owner, a doctor who only drove it to the mail box and back every day.

I think you are correct in assuming that the average person in the US drives 10-12k per year.
A truck with mileage that is way off and with the Carfax throwing a red flag and all.
