Default Looking at an 03 and have an Ultragauge question

I found an 03 Disco I'm interested in. My 00 is getting up in age (140k) and has a few battle scars recently that I'm not going to repair and I'm getting sick of looking at. I've had my eye out for a bit, and came across one I might want. It is out of the bad vin range, one owner and in nice shape with only 85K on it.
I might go check it out tomorrow afternoon. If I do, I want to have my ultraguage plugged in to check temps, codes, etc. Does anyone know if it automatically will detect a new vehicle, or is the Disco with the 4.6 similiar enough to the 4.0 that it will read out the same basic info for codes, temp, etc?
I've looked around, but don't see anything definitive on it.
Thanks!

It should just plug right in and not know the difference, however if it does you can skip the detection mode where it configures to the OBD type or whatever its called.
I did this when I unhooked my battery to replace my alternator.
It even picked up where I left off with my miles, etc.
The DII 4.0 and 4.6 ECU's are the same, just different programming so yes, it will work.

I think it will need to reconfigure itself to the new Disco which will only take a few minutes.
