If you want real protection make sure you get a bumper that wraps around all the way to the wheel well so when you come off a rock on your back tire you dont crumble the entire rear section of the truck...

I went with a tactical rovers bumper and it looks great, i love how they incorporated the tail lights into the bumper. Very strong and the best looking one out there in in my opinion.

Make sure you ask what the lead time is...nothing like dropping a TON of cash and then sitting around and waiting for 2 months...

HLC Fab seems to have a good following on the other LR forum. $800-900 depending if you want the bull bars. They will customize if you want something worked in as well. They have a rear bumper with winch bumper too. They sell skid plates and such as well. I don't need something that heavy duty but seems about the best prices I've seen in everything mentioned and built for off-road applications.

HLC Fab

I got some plans and the welding teacher at the high school next door is going to help me out here otherwise that is the direction I would probably go.

I would NOT recommend getting HLC's rear bumper, the rear overhang is already bad enough without an added FOOT of metal.

I thought you were exaggerating a little bit with "an added FOOT of metal" but i just looked at the pictures and DAMN that thing does stick out a foot (at least 8-10").

They make it so big so you can install a winch in the bumper...if you plan on doing that maybe its the way to go way to go but it seems a lil too long.

Yeah I like the looks of their stuff but damn... that departure angle is crazy bad with that bumper. I'd rather do some unsafe winch technique than run with that thing!

Yeah, I can see that now. I don't off road seriously so wasn't my first look. What do you guys think of the front bumpers?

I really like their front bumper. It's clean and has a great approach angle and protection.

^haha I'm not sure you need the "high clearance" with a 4" lift and 285-65-18s. It's not like your rear overhang would have made it anywhere your front was going!

Welcome to the official website for Rock Star Fabrications LLC

All tube all the time, Brad does awesome work, top quality products and excellent customer service.

I have his sliders and a custom one off rear bumper on my RRC. You just can't be afraid to trim a bit with his stuff.
