Default Looking to buy my first disco

Ok I have done tons of research on land rovers and I have narrowed it down to a 2004 disco 2 I found one that is se7 115k for 6500 one owner has been well maintained and does not show any signs of major issues yet . I have 2 questions how long will the motor last most likely without a major rebuild and is this a good price. It has been in NC all of its life. It would be my daily driver but I do have a backup vehicle if it did fail on me.

Its overdue for Head Gaskets and front drive shaft replacement; its an okay price if they have been done, depending on condition. Any engine ticking/knocking, when hot and when cold?

A one owner truck with service records is a very good thing... and assume the seller is honest.
Of course it will eventually need things done and there are things to look at before buying it. {let the guys who know what to look for tell you}
I have been in a Land Rover Discovery for 8-9 years now.
I would have the same concerns buying a Chevy, Ford or Toyota with 115,000 miles so I wouldn't let the foreign Land Rover name scare you (at least not to the point you can't sleep at night.)
I was looking to get into an LR3... my price check for value is sometimes see what they go for on ebay and try to compare location, condition etc.
There are some people asking over $10,000 for an 04 Discovery...don't think they would ever get it...unless you absolutely need that truck. I would move to a LR3 for another few thousand more. $6500 is in the ball park
Hope it all works out.

I've got to agree with this one. Be aware if the head gaskets aren't replaced already, that will be soon. Also be on the lookout for a slipped liner. If the wheel bearings and hubs haven't been replaced, plan on that too.

It's not fair for me to estimate what deferred maintenance will cost you on a car I've never seen, but if I was shopping for a D2 with your description, I'd plan on spending a few thousand dollars after the purchase to catch up on maintenance and replace worn parts (doing the work myself). The big mistake I see people make is thinking they're going to get a great Land Rover for $xxxx and drive away happy. Most Discoveries selling today are because people want rid of the problem. The smart buyers are the ones that recognize they're buying a project/hobby. The ignorant think they're getting a really cool car for a low price.
