I saw a disco yesterday that was maroon with a black roof and black steel rims. It looked good but my first thought was about the heat as well. I couldn't tell if the hood was blacked out. If I see it again and can snap a pic I will.

My son did that to his car, $20 in rattle cans and it went from red to flat black.

I would go for it! No worries about the black roof drawing heat. I mean, my Disco is factory java black and I've never really noticed it get that hot. Go for it!
