Looking to swap wheels...can I go 16"?
Hi all. The factory wheels on my D2 are 18" but I'd like to swap those out for some 16" steel wheels because tires are so much cheaper. I measured the calipers and they seem like they would fit just barely. Is this possible on the HSE Model and if so what size wheels do I want, and what is the lug pattern? Thanks in advance.
dont go to the 16 cus tires are cheaper from your pic your truck looks really nice and it will really degrade the look by putting the 16,s on it shop around for tires the price of the 16 and the 18 are not that big of a difference you will spend more buying the 16 inch rims
Ok, don't mean to thread-jack. If one has the 18's and would like to have a 31 inch tire, what is the best size, PRE-lift..... 265/65 18's?
I found the BFG AT KO's at costco.
The 265/65 18's are $292.99 ea.
The 275/70 16's are $246.99 ea.
(these include instal.)

Not much off-roading to be honest. Lots of rain here, will be traveling over the pass in the snow a few times a year. The occasional sand dune trip, light mud, and some light jeep type trails in central Oregon. Have not had any issue the the 18's with what I've done soo far on 55 series tires. Not changing my off-road habits a whole lot, maybe just more often...
Ditto on getting some Rover 16"s for better off-road performance, then paint them black like this guys'...But if you're not going to be off-roading that much more, I wouldn't waste your time unless you plan on keeping your 18"s to run during the summer and 16"s in the winter with more aggressive tread.
your best bet is to get a set of used 16's off a wrecked truck from a pick and pull if you want steels then head to a site like roverparts.com no there is nothing like these trucks. uniquely a pain in the a$$
