Looks like I finally was able to lower the temps with the soft spring stat

You have a HOT engine. You have achieved close to normal temps with a low temp stat. I am not a mechanik but obviously the coolant goes through the engine and that is the part likely responsible for the high temps.
I have noted that my temps have gone up by around 2-3 degrees, likely due to internal deposits and restricted flow. I am planning on flushing the system and using some chemicals to try to get rid of any deposits and also change the dxcool to regular coolant and see if the temps will go back to normal.

Back roads 40-50 MPH was at 199.4 most of the time.
Stoplight sitting: 203
Long idle letting it sit for a bit after the drive: 210
Highway for a short time: 196
My temps were always below 206 and even the 206 was a rear sight, yesterday I had temps between 208-209 at idle and around 96 on freeway and also higher numbers in the city, probably time to get the gray thermostat and do a thorough flush. Sad thing is that I already paid once for the flush, which was likely not done. Have the same color coolant in there.

Those would be normal temps with a stock stat. This is the lower temp version. His before temps were higher, and have dropped by the "delta" expected, but the display still seems higher than might be expected. I am suggesting either engine coolant sensor (which has been changed) is off, or there is a minor wiring issue that is "adding" to his baseline. IMHO testing with an IR thermometer may confirm this.

When I installed mine about ten days ago. I went from city 220-225f hwy205-220 to city 191-193 hwy 187f-191f My cooling system is new, including temp switch for ecu. Old switch would change temps by just touching it, then it died. Coolant gauge went default.

Which temp switch do you mean? And buzz, everything looks normal with the wires, etc. brings me back to what we discussed out of the RAVE about the ecu compensating for exterior temps.

Yep, no headers or splices, the ECT runs directly to the ECU. But maybe that plug?? Of course I'm trying to lure you into a pretzel position and yanking out the glove box. Enjoy what you have.

see https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...rmostat+spring for more numbers to compare

Yep...I am officially done chasing this. I don't care if I'm running normal temps via voodoo or a different stat, anyway you do it I'm happy. I sat in NYC traffic in 80+ temps this week with the old stat and still no issues. Last summer I did it in 100 degree weather. This will mostly be used for my around town use like Little League and mountain biking, with some longer zero traffic highway trips for work. She is 12 years old with 135 on the clock. If the engine decides to self destruct, so be it. At least I know I did and do everything possible to avoid that. Every fluid is new a few times over, oil is done very 3k tops and all the other usual suspects have been proactively changed. Only thing I know is that I'm not going to tear the engine apart to just guess. Maybe The added heat is the source of the tick, but that too has remained constant and even improved a bit.
