Default lose of power on exceleration

Still working on this engine problem. I have the V8 engine and 85000 miles. When excelerating it looses power. But runs smooth otherwise. Now I was thinking about this long and hard. About 1500 miles ago in spring the service engine light came on. I found out that it was for the emission service. So I did nothing, but find out how to reset it. Did that and it ran well till the last 150 miles. In that time I changed oil, fuel filter and new paper air cleaner. Also fixed very leaky oil pan gasket and leaky oil pressure switch. Would the emission service create an engine problem like this?

The leaks are slowing down and it's not empty!!!

OP: We've had a long discussion about this, and continue troubleshooting. Might just want to stick to one thread. You've started 3 of them now - easier if we keep it all together!

Spike - it's the same thread you've been helping me in. I hijacked it when I offered some input and it just kept going...

Haha! [&:]

The original poster came back with a reply to the long thread, but started a new one instead (it happens). There's one in the general tech forum too.

Can a mod merge them together?
