Default Lost cruise, where to look?

I slowly lost the cruise function, and now I have no cruise. I am sure it is a busted vacuum tube from what I have read, it sounds like an easy fix. Where do i look to find it? Thanks for tolerating really dumb questions!

do not quote me, because I have not fixed my cruise yet; still to cold. But I believe you want to look on the passenger side inner fender well, just below and behind the coolant recovery tank. I think you will see a unit the size of a 1lb coffee can, I believe that is part of the cruise control system. I think it works like a small vacuum pump, I think this is what LR uses rather than using engine vacuum like everyone. I also have an 2000 d2 with broken cruise so hopfully someone on the board knows more cruise than me.

On the passenger fender well behind the fuse box you will find the cruise control unit. You can trace the cable from the throttle back to the unit as well. Remove it and replace the 4 vacuum hoses. There are 2 different size hoses, take some down to Napa and get about 12" of each.

If youll read my thread Ive started, I have the same issue as well except my horn doesnt work either. Blown fuse under the hood for the horn and it actually controls the cruise also believe it or not. My problems only worse as the fuse keeps blowing. May be worth checking if your horn blows as well. If it does, good for you, you can atleast pinpoint your issue!! Good luck!

That was SUCH an easy fix. Bad hose off, good hose on. This fix took all of about 15 seconds in the parking lot of Napa. Thanks so much fellas. And yes my horn blows!
