Default Low Cost front Bumper for D2 ?????

My D2 sulfured a front Bumper failure. Thanks to someone tring to help me out of a Ditch. front covers are hard to find used or way to expensive for what they are. Looking for any ideas for a fairly inexpensive replacement.

Perhaps it's time to think about a steel winch bumper with tow points?
You know, for next time you end up in the ditch. Otherwise you're right, the stock plastic junk is way overpriced and the first thing to dissapear from the junk yards.

Been looking at this for my restoration, spent quite a while looking at craigslist etc.. now that my AC is fixed as of today, it's the next thing on my list. Last week I found a link while searching to a LR parts store online that had the cover for $480 I believe (I did the facelift headlights/grill in the process so I need an 03-04 bumper) but I think prices were similar. I believe they were CHEAPER than my dealer cost through local LR dealership. That did not include the end caps or fog lights.

If you get the entire thing for $700 (not including paint or shipping) you're doing really good.... as insane as that might sound.

So yeah you're correct though, a stupid plastic bumper ends up being 1/3rd - 1/4th the cost of your entire vehicle after paint/shipping.. for a USED/WRECKED ONE.

What's worse, that's nearly identical to the price of the cheaper aftermarket bumpers.. winch bumpers are generally still $200-$300 more and require modification usually, so you're screwed either way.

Just to update this thread for search purposes, I found the link someone else posted.

2003 Land Rover Discovery Parts - Land Rover Parts Center - Call (800) 574-9217 for Genuine Land Rover Parts and Accessories

At $487 it's an absolute steal, and about $80 cheaper than my dealer pricing at the local LR dealership parts department.

Plus $73 shipping... So save your self the wait and go get it at the dealers parts department for $7.00 more.

Otherwise, time to go steel.
