Below is a must have resource for anyone seriously considering converting their Rover to an "alternative energy" powered vehicle. Straight from the Department of Energy website. I was also considering lpg, but the closest fill station is 41 miles away......
But if you live close to a lpg fill station, then its worth the one time cost of converting to lpg or any other form of alternative energy.
EERE: Alternative Fuels Data Center Home Page

Funny how an LPG conversion was even recommended in " You & Your Land Rover Discovery: Buying, Enjoying, Maintaining, Modifying"!

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I have enough trouble finding diesel when away from home in my truck. I can only imagine trying to find a place to fill up my lpg Disco at one in the morning. Gas would have to get really expensive for me to want to try it. If gas does get crazy expensive, I have thought it would be kind of cool to try an electric motor conversion with batteries.

Here is a website that shows locations in the United States for
Alternative Fuel Fill Stations and Prices

Biodiesel (1366)
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) (548)
E85 Ethanol (1768)
Electric Charging Stations (348)
Hydrogen (6)
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) (19)
Liquefied Propane Gas (LPG) (2496)

Public alternative fuel stations and prices in the USA

I also found multiple apps for Android in Google Play for finding alternative fuels to use on your smart phone. I downloaded one called Fuel Finder CNG Now

I think this is something for the future though for sure. Eventually when gas does get to the $5, 6, 7 dollar mark this will become more of a savings in the long run. When gas gets to 5-7 a gallon more LNG LPG stations will pop up!
