Default The LR discovery made the top 10 list

It seems LR is the proud owner of 2 spots on the top 10 worst used vehicles. For the Top 10 List, Click Here

Why do we love these things again?

Look at the list again. 2 out of the top 5.

Because we have this forum and can find the answers to keep them running.
Besides, no 10 year old vehicle is going to be trouble free.
The Freelander would be a decent vehicle if it had the diesel engine and a 5 speed.

Doesn't make me love it any less, they're awesome vehicles, well, besides the freelander...

I think it's more interesting that Ford owned 33% of Mazda, and owned all of Jag and Land Rover until 2008, when it dumped all 3.

So Ford kinda holds 8 of the 10 spots.

I'm not a Ford hater, and no actual Fords are on the list, but it's still kind of damning. I wonder if spots 11-20 were filled with Fords?

Looking at the top 10 instead of the bottom 10, Ford has two trucks in there (including the Excursion which I have heard was riddled with engine problems), but otherwise Toyota is dominant.

Don't get me started on Fords - from 2003 until 2010, they suffered one of the worst lawsuits in history over their diesel line being some of the most unreliable POS engines ever produced by mankind. People literally died in ambulances equipped with Ford diesels due to catastrophic and unannounced engine failures. And you think a disco is expensive to fix? Ha! You can rack up a 5K parts bill in the blink of an eye on a PSD. No doubt that author is very knowledgable, but hey, anyone on this forum is probably a little more savvy than your average car buyer.

If memory serves, that was the big problem with the Excursions - many were POS diesels.

It's a mental game, a challenge, trying to fix things, keeping them on the road, figuring out what makes them tick..... fun, fun, fun...
