UP sure loves to rub in the fact that he has a diesel and we can't get them over here. I'm still working on finding a donor diesel to swap in to my D1.

I forgot about powerband on the LS1, you never hear about its low end torque. I guess its better to keep things simple and stick to stock, there are enough issues to keep track of as it is, no use complicating things. Just kicking some ideas, yeah I saw that vid of the guy with the supposed SBC in his disco, thought it was weird going thru all that work just to have a vid of it idling!

The Rover V8 has quite a following overseas. If you are willing to pay shipping there is a nearly unlimited supply of high performance modifications for the Rover V8. I'll stick to rock sliders and winches for performance. To each his own.

You have to remember that the Rover v8 was used in all sorts of cars like TVR and Morgan to name a couple.

It's amazing how many different cars the Rover V-8 has been in... Top Gear did a tribute to it this year since it's officially being put out of commission, can't find the damn video. It's been in everything from Land Rovers to Lotus' and TVR's, something like 15+ different models. You would think an engine used by so many, wouldn't have SO many flaws.
