Constantly shilling poor quality parts. Albeit, lowest price, but garbage. Add this cracking tie rod end, installed in July, about 1000 miles ago, to the list of dumpster parts.

What’s that old adage? The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten? Last time I order from them.

 

Was that an individual tire rod you installed or did it come with a new drag link?

 

Came with a new drag link.

 

That stinks that it's cracking. Any chance you recall the brand on the packaging of the item?

 

They have a few different sets or drag-link options. Did you buy the cheapest drag link (65 bucks)...or the better one (110 bucks - lemforder) or the TF set (180.00)?

You fail to tell us what drag-link you bought...

My lemforder tie rod ends are in good shape, after several years and the same goes for my TF set.

They don't make the product. And have to cater to Mr. Cheapo (to compete with bargin basement/rock auto) and folks that want to do it once and will pay more for better parts.

 

When I use Rock Auto I go with the name brand stuff. My original TF boots were falling apart out of the box and missing the spring clips which hold the boot to the tie rod. I emailed Steve with Lucky8 way back in the day and never heard back. I was able to remove the TF draglinks and replace the boots with a good quality set I had from a spare set of RRC/D1 tie rods.

 

Britpart, of course. Problem is, they don't list brands, for the most part, on their site. It's a roll of the dice.

 

This is why I have had good luck CALLING THEM ON THE PHONE. They will tell you what parts are better quality. You miss alot by relying on the website or ebay. Just call.
