I found the lug wrench but it only fits the spare? What is up with this? Lugs on the wheels are bigger! Is this normal? Also, the lugs have a cover on them. Do they come off first?

I really have to get a manual off ebay or somewhere! BTW during my search of owners manuals, I have noticed a trend that the ones selling the manuals are ebay car dealers. That tells me they know of the need for the manuals but are shorting the buyer to skim an extra buck later!!!!!! Just my opinion.

NO, the covers no not come off. I the lug wrench only fits the spare i would bet someone used a differnt size like S.A.E. on the lugs and tweeked them a bit thats why it don't fit.

 

Mike is correct. 27 mm socket. Most non-dealers ruin the lugs with the incorrect tools. Sometimes, ya get what ya pay for.

 

Off the top of my head someone has messed with either the lugs, or the lug wrench. The one wrench should work on all of the lugs. There are no covers on the lug nuts. They look like a cover, but they are part of the nut itself. If you know some else that has a rover ask to check there lug wrench to see if it works. Most people with rovers will try to help in a heart beat. The other thing is to gain access to a large size set of metric sockets and find out which one will fit. 14mm x 1.50 threads. 27mm hex. Is the size of LR Disco SI Lugs. Do i need to buy something that is made for land rovers or if i have

Do I need the Hex size to be 27mm.

 

I use a 6 point socket, I think it is 1-1/16" on a breaker bar, slides right under the back seat.
If your lugs are "stretched" you will need a hammer and penatrant/lube to get the socket onto the lug nut.

 

I need to get the current lugs off my car, there not the right ones, never seen them before, shown you a picture one. Round disc on the bottom that hold the tire on, then the open hex. I am not able at all to get these off, and i'm getting my brakes changed very soon, dont want them back on there. I need to buy a complete set. roverlandparts doesnt have a set yet for me to buy. So i'm looking for other lugs that dont say there made for the discovery but are the same size, 14mm x 1.50. I need to know if i have to stay with 27mm hex or can i go diffent size hex or even differnt type, like acorn.

Also interested in wheel locks to.
