I agree with it being an addiction. I am already searching for photos of other Rovers to get ideas from as well as I am now on this forum a couple times a day!

I have 2 young boys and they love it... it might just be the rear jump seats or that they have their own moon-roof!

As soon as I get the sound to go away, the tires are next! I would love to jack it up a bit, however it would be too tall to fit in the garage. When I move to Colorado it won't matter as I don't have a garage! What kind of costs and work is involved in jacking it up a few inches?

Congrats and welcome I think you will enjoy the truck! There is something about them that kids just fall in love with, isn't there? Good call on the front driveshaft.

Once you take it offroad or cross a nice deep ditch or some uneven terrain where wheels leave the ground you'll fall in love. The TCS works great for crawling rocks and ditches. I worked on a drilling rig, and after all of those guys were clowning my Foreign truck, it was my Foreign truck that was the only one able to make it off of a really bad lease road to location. we were rigging uo, and the road was already bad, but after numerous 18 wheelers wers getting pulled out it made the road un-passable for everyone. all those guys and their chevys dodges and fords with suspension lifts and mud tires were getting stuck in the uneven muddy terrain spinning one front tire and one back tire. my stock disco II on general grabber street tires was the only ttuck that could make it past that road to get food and supplies. I pulled one guy out that was clowning on my truck then turned around and drove into the spot he was stuck in, stopped threw my hands up and proceeded to drive out, asking him why his "superior Z71 with a 3" suspension lift and BF goodrich mud tires souldn't fo it. needless to say they respected the rover after that. These things are incredible off road. I usually find some kind of excuse to cross ditches and off road in my disco II.

YES!!! I love those stories. I have some too. There is a reason that Land Rovers are the best 4x4xfar.

An Old man emu suspension lift and a coil spring conversion with shocks and steering stabiliser should cost under a grand if you do it yourself. Approx $1500 counting the bigger tires. And that counts the bigger size spare. Whadayatink Spike

ha! ha!, its just that this probability coming from you just don't make sense. One would expect thatone who knows tons of stuff and is helpfull enough to share his wealth of knowledge, would at least know and applythe basicno,no's of 4X4'ing, that's all. But I guess this just shows you're human.

Kids aren't the only ones that fall in love with rovers. My dad is jealous that I've got a Discovery and he's driving a Mercedes. He actually debated between his Mercedes and an LR3 and now that I have a Discovery he's kicking himself. Dad is as eager to take the rover off road as I am. Ever since he read about the sand dunes in southern Colorado he's been asking when I was bringing the rover home so we can take it down there to play. If he gets the job in Alamosa he's looking at I may lose my Discovery. Guess I'll have to buy another one then.
