Default Made a Spare Tire Jerry Can Holder

I went ahead and finally made a Jerry Can holder that attaches to the spare tire mount. Other than going off road I tend to drive on long trips now and then. Having a few extra gallons on hand makes me feel so much better in the middle of Montana when there is not a gas station in site. I have been using it for a little bit now and so far I cannot see or feel any extra wear on the rear door (although I only have been keeping about 3 gallons in it).

I made some for me and a couple of buds so it was almost the same price to get 10 made instead of 4, so I have 6 others if anyone is interested.

Thumbs up Very cool

Very cool...does it matter if it is a 16 inch or 18 inch rim to attach to? I'm curious what the weight does on the rear gate...

Very Nice! How much are you asking for one?

The rim size should not matter since it just goes through the center. I am by no means saying you should carry 5 gallons all the time on it but so far the 20 or so pounds it added has not done anything. I am sure there is some story about how it made someones door sag but I am willing to bet they already had a problem before hand.

They came out to $650 for all of them so that makes it $65 each. There are similar ones out there that are $100 that I can tell have thinner metal. These are 1/4" thick on the front and 3/16" where it attaches to the mount. Oh, they are powder coated as well in Satin Black.

Nice job, can you post a few pics of how it attaches to the truck?

What is your price for one? Is it powder coated or painted? Looks like it may attach through the center cap hole? am I correct?

I'm in for one as long you've still got one and as it will fit my old US Marine jerry cans. Do you have measurements on what size cans it would fit? Take PayPal?

Spike - I will get some more pics of how it attaches tomorrow.

Bosshogt - The are powder coated and attach through the center of the rim, so if you have a flipped tire holder it should still work. $65 plus shipping.

YlodiscoII - if it a military can it should fit just fine. I based it on NATO cans which are 6.5"X13.5"X17" I think. I will check with an older can and see how it fits. And of course PayPal is good.
