Default MAF Ring / Airfilter Change

Hi,

While referring to the RAVE CD for an air filter change I found that it specifies removing the MAF sensor, replacing the Air Filter, and then replace the MAF O-Ring? Is this necessary?

Makes getting in the box easier, but not necessary if you can get in there.

So, you may not have to remove the MAF sensor as specified?

I'll let someone with a D2 verify, but I didn't on mine, and I don't think I did on my friends 01.

You're not really removing it. Just unclip (see the two clips) the intake hose/mafassembly from the air filter box. It just makes it easier to get the filter cover off. I didn't replace my o-ring, but then again I'm still having this weird, bad MAF symptom.
