I just did the most elaborate oil change ever...
Poured a quart of ATF into the crankcase and drove the car about 6 miles.
Drained the oil (no chunks, but very dirty).
Refilled with 5 Qts. Mobil 5W30 and a bottle of Gunk engine flush. Let it idle for 5 minutes.
Drained the oil (not nearly as dirty as the old oil so I was a bit disappointed that I spent an extra $25).
Replaced the oil filter with a Mobil 1 filter and filled up the crankcase with Mobil 1 5W40 full synthetic.
A bit ****, I know, but at least I have the peace of mind of knowing that my engine is clean.
My D2 now runs noticeably quieter and smoother (at least in my head it does).

I agree can we get some posts on how to do these
I concur - it would be great if we had links to posts explaining the best ways to change all these fluids.

you could try using the search button, there are sticky and link as well as pictorials that show you how to do oil changes, transmission changes, and differantal changes, even spring changes.
Other than coming to your house and doing it for you I dont know what else Mike or any of the other people that worked in the links amd pictorials could do for you.

I used this list when I did my 60k tune-up; at that time, as I remember, Dexcool was listed as the coolant to use. Now, it says used green coolant and NOT Dexcool. Did I read the post wrong 60k ago? Have things changed?
Thanks

Just about to do my first maintenance on an '04 I just bought
U joints, rotoflex, front drive shaft centering kit, oil, filter. PO did just about everything else last year. I'm seeing some seepage around the transfer case. I'm gonna check out bolts and tighten everything up.
Woohoo!

Hey, am doing some work on my D2, also doing an oil change, I was looking for the K&N filter but it says to use a different filter, not the 3001, it tells me to use the 2004, am i doing this wrong? or the Major Service thing was genetic, or specific to D2s?
