Go to a Napa store, they will have good brass fittings.

 

They are a pretty common plumbing fitting. They had them in the check-out isle at harbor freight last week, talk about random.

 

Just broke this, but as described int came off flush, How the heck do you get it out of there to find a brass replacement? If I cannot get it out in one piece sizing it will be a PITA.

Pulling a plastic threaded pipe out is too simple, work at it, you can do it.

 

I guess the answer I was looking for was in regards to just yanking it out will not start some god awful sequence of events.

 

How about jamming an extra-large screwdriver inside and unscrewing it? Or maybe an old knife if you don't have a screwdriver big enough? Or you could always by an EZ-Out if the first two ideas don't work.

 

Went with the old knife method From my experience, an old knife will fix most problems..

I have the same broken part (ERR6880/LKL000080) and don't want to spend $18 on a plastic part that might break again but looking for the brass one. Taking it out without having a replacement is a bit risky for me, so I need to get the brass fitting before I cut the plastic fitting into pieces or melt it down with a torch. Does anyone know the thread size and diameters or a part number for the brass fitting? I couldn't find that info here nor anywhere else in the Interwebs. Thanks.
