Default Master Cylinder or just reservoir?

What do you all reckon? It looks to me like there is a leak on the metal flange where the reservoir attaches. As opposed to just the grommets/seals.
But this seems like a really strange place to be leaking. Is it the case that this leak would be fixed by replacing the reservoir and grommets? Or am I looking at a new master cylinder?

Good question. I believe I have a leak in the same location.

Looks like the flange might have cracked along the seam with the mastercylinder. You might to pull the reservoir off and then see if you can see better, although I do think the seals must be partly at fault because those grommets go in to the mastercylinder much deeper than that flange.

I just had the same problem on my 04. The problem ended up being those two seals at the bottom of the reservoir. I replaced them on Tuesday and I haven't had any problems since.

Same issue here.

Procedure: Buy the $67 rebuild kit on amazon. My leak was the two rubber grommets on the bottom of the old reservoir, so I replaced them, along with the reservoir, and kept the rest of the kit for when the other part starts leaking.

I am now brake-fluid leak free. For now.

Might want to check out this thread: Brake Master Cylinder Leak - Page 2 - Land Rover Forums - Land Rover Enthusiast Forum

Discussion at the bottom about where to get the grommets only, as usually the reservoir is not damaged.

If you don't end up changing out the reservoir, make sure you give it a good clean. Mine was really dirty inside, but I bought a new one from LRNJ on Amazon so I just tossed the old one in the trash.
