Default Master Cylinder Trouble

Hello,
I replace my master cylinder on my 2000 LR D2. When I removed the master cylinder the push rod came out with it. I was unsure if that was ok, but put it back together anyway. Now after I put the MC back in i left the brake lines unattached and press the brake pedal to make sure the rod was pushing the plunger. I noticed air and fluid coming out of the holes so i screwed the lines back and in and filled with fluid. Now the break pedal just goes to floor and I have no brakes. I do not even have enough pedal to bleed the wheel cylinders.
Is there something different I could have done? or is the power booster hosed.

Thanks for your time.

the pedal goes all the way to the floor, but does come back up. There does not seem to be enough pedal to bleed the wheels. I did not bench bleed the master cylinder either; so I am unsure if the push rod or booster is the issue or there is air in the system.

Sounds like you got alot of air still in there. You can "bench" bleed it on the car still. Remove the brake lines from the master. Hold a rag over the openings(to catch brake fluid) and have a helper slowly and easily depress the brake pedal to the floor. While helper holds it at the floor, cover the openings with your fingers as he/she lets the pedal up. Couple times of this should get the air out of the master and will be alot less you'll need to bleed through the lines

i got some pedal back. the front wheels seem to have a never ending supply of whiteish fluid coming out. The rears are just fluid. I bled the front two probably 10 times each and still air in the fluid. Is there anything I can do different?

thanks again.

Just keep bleeding, thats all you can do, it might take awhile but thats what you have to do.

Sorry to Bump an old post, but did you have any luck? My BMC push rod came out as well. I put it back in, and clipped the retainer ring in as best I could, but was hoping for a definite A-Okay before moving forward. If I need a new booster, I'd rather just do it than have to take the BMC off again, etc...
