Default Matte black 03 disco

I just did my hood with matte black and I googled your post. Here's a link to my silver disco

I did it as right as you could with spray paint. Wet sanded, multiple layers of primer, and a few cans of Industrial strength Rust Oleum (It's not flat black).

I dig the results two years later. The only problem I have is how thick it is above the hood, but overall I'm happy.

The only problem with spray paint is that you can't go back to normal. I did plasti-dip so I can peel it off.

I want 03-04 headlights. They look so sick hiding behind that ARB

To me it was worth doing the conversion! I got to do it for pretty cheap, and I've had no cracks since!

A more cost effective approach would be plastidip which runs about $8 a can , prob one can would suffice, 2 for extra coats. This is the new wave in detailing friends, and it is cheap, effective, and durable.

So how did you get a nice even radius on each of those front corners of the painted area when you taped it off?

The more tape you use in steady increments the smoother the corners are.

FWIW I wasn't totally happy with it, so I ended up using the vinyl blackout we have for around $60.
