Default measuring stick

2002 disco ii broke down 2 1/2 hrs from home, had it towed to wrecker yard and wife came and picked me up. Now i have to go and retrieve it, the problem is i don't know if it will fit on a car dolly. Does anyone know what it measures outside to outside on the stock front wheels and tires or would you mind measuring yours for me?

Mine's all stock and 70". Hopefully you are aware of the proper procedures required/sans damaging to tow using a dolly. Good luck getting her home and enjoy.

70" perfect, 2inches to spare on dolly. Drop rear driveshaft and drag her home. Thank you very much number9, thought i was going to have to stalk the mall parking lot with a tape measure. Lol

Could have saved yourself ~17hrs

Google 2002 Land Rover Discovery Dimensions.
The first image displayed:
Front tire to tire is 1955mm. Converted to inches is 76.9"

Hmm. But then there's this.
Sorry, I'm away from my rig otherwise, I would span a tape across it to confirm, but on the other hand; I'm running larger than stock tires.

Coors, your two images contradict each other. After number9 came through with his very useful info I came across a term I had never heard before,'wheel track', your 1st image would have cost me more money. It does not reflect wheel track rather body width. As to the abrasion of your post, I didn't waste 17hrs I wasted an hour, 5 minutes here and there with failed Google searches before deciding to ask an expert such as yourself. Oh and wheel track is center of wheel to center of wheel so if you measured yours a little arithmeticwowould've provided the answer.

Drowssap, idk. Everything I've ever heard about car dollying was disconnect rear drives hafti wwould rather not risk ruining an extremely expensive transmission when i could possibly be doing a HG job already.

coors - First diagram measurement is outside of mirrors and second, track indicates wheel centers. Learned that last night per the Owner's Handbook prior to sending my reply.

drowssao - Per the Workshop Manual is all I would have to go by until told/learn something different:
Suspended tow
To prevent vehicle damage, front or rear
propeller shaft MUST BE removed, dependent
upon which axle is being trailed.
......
