How close to the border are you?
Drive to another state and buy them.
Or you buy 2, have them both shipped to me and then I will pay for shipping and FedEx you yours.

Check out this thread from Expedition portal... You can also google CARB compliant fuel cans. http://www.expeditionportal.com/foru...ans+california
EDIT: Try here too http://www.sonoransteel.com/JerryCanPaperV1.2.pdf

why would anyone want a carb compliant fuel can? Go to Mexico or AZ and buy a real one.. or, use it as an excuse to go to Vegas. The goal of the oppressive CA government is to make everything twice as difficult to produce at twice the cost and half the durability and efficiency. I hate this state. I would move out if I could, but for some reason my Wife wants to be close to family. I buy everything I can used, on line, or out of state so I contribute as little as I possibly can to this crap hole.

I got mine from the local surplus. $25 a can. In good shape and made in 1945!
Here's a pic of them mounted on the roof....

It's a dual can mount w/lock that I fabbed up, when not in use it's almost unnoticeable. Yes, i made the mount system to work specifically with my rack.
Here's a couple more pics with and without the cans.
The paint on the rack is in poor shape, so no comments on the condition of the rack, please. I've already gotten flack from some club members about this already. It's coming off this summer for a little stretching and painting.
