misfire again!?

Default misfire again!?

ok so my disco is a 2002 69k 4.0 westminster edition a/t vin: salty i've owned it for about 4 months but shortly after i bought it started running rough n threw a check engine light had plugs n wires replaced plugs were ngk laser series platinum ($16.00 each) wires were sti 8mm (about $150.00) it ran fine for about two months then one morning i start it up n it ran very bad for about 30 seconds then it calms down n runs fine most the time but after that it always starts missing really bad outta no where here n there regardless if its cold or been drivin for hours the check engine light is on most the time also codes r cyl.8 misfire cyl.5 misfire i took it to 2 shops columbia rovers and greenoval motors in portland or. the shop replaced coils, crank position sensor, tested fuel pump, injectors and did a fuel system cleaning. still no luck both mechanics had no more ideas im so frustraded! im about to blow this thing up i love my truck but im getting tired of throwing so much money at it. anyone have any ideas? please help

i hope you have learned the golden rule of dealing with most shops.

the majority are parts swappers and not problem solvers. you can band aid a problem with new parts, but unless the real issue is fixed it will keep reoccurring.

ask here first, then go to the shop.

my mind instantly goes to the TPS, but that is me.

lets wait on discomike. he is the dude

STI wires are junk. I say get them out of there and replace them with some magnecores or stock replacement wires.

Gotta go with wires. Get yourself some Magnecore 8mm wires and Bosch Platinum +4 plugs. You won't be disappointed by them.
