Exclamation Misfire Code P0307

Morning Rover Owners,
I recently got a flashing check engine light and ran the scanner and came back with P0307 , fuel injector . first thing I did was replaced the spark plug and is still getting the flashing light and shaking
O2 sensors will be replaced this weekend and is wondering if its actually the fuel injector itself or the O2 sensors that is making my truck shake at the light and feels like its driving rough a bit
Has anyone gotten this issue with their rig?

2001 Disco 2 60k

Thank You

That code is for a misfire on cylinder 7. How old are the spark plug wires and what brand are they? Try watching for arcing after dark with the engine idling. With a P0307 only I'd focus on the #7 wire next.

It could be a bad wire from the coil pack side to cyl 7. Does it make any faint ticking noise? Sometimes that can be a spark arcing to the firewall or back of engine. You can buy a spark testing tool that you hook up the wire (
Amazon Amazon
). Maybe want to consider getting all new plugs and wires. Forewarning, its not easy to access the coil pack and takes a couple hours.

Or it can also be a dead #7 position on the coil pack. It does happen (had it myself on my 02 Kalahari), it might even still show a spark with a tester, but that doesn’t mean it’s a hot enough/strong enough spark for proper combustion. If you’re going to go to all the trouble of removing a spark plug wire I’d honestly just get new coil packs & wires, and then be trouble free for a very long time.

This one...no...a thousand others...yes...lol.

But seriously, you've got quite a bit of good info already. How they get you fixed up fast.
