misfire issues

swapped the a couple wires and no change. got the codes read again at a different store.
General Pcodes were
P0300 - which is just a general multiple misfire code
P0305 - cyl 5 misfire
P0304 - cyl 4 misfire
P0308 - cyl 8 misfire
Manufacture Pcodes
P1313
P1314
P1316
P1316 (came up twice this time)
so a total of 8 codes
i did happen to buy some seafoam and tb cleaner

Did you erase the codes first after you swapped the wires? I'm not sure what 1314, 1316 are google seems to suggest they are bad catalyst codes. The guy could have driven around a long time with those misfires and destroyed his cats There may be a reason he changed the wires right before he sold it and I'm thinking you found it.

The coils almost never go bad on a DI.
It is the plug wires.
I put Duralast plug wires on my truck when I first bought it, they lasted one year.
Replaced under warranty, lasted 2 months, repeat, another 2 months, repeat, one month.
Bought the Magnecors and returned the Duralast for a refund.
I also use Iridium plugs and I swear by them, but plugs are a matter of choice.
It is the plug wires.

i put some new champion plugs in it that i gapped today. took it to town was still misfiring. checked all the stores around and none of them carry wires for the rover. As it is now, it has Autolite Professional Series 7mm wires in it that were replaced about 2 weeks ago. I looked closely at the wires last night in the pitch black and saw no arching. So while i was driving around town the speedo quit and stopped working. i pulled onto the interstate because it "seemed" to misfire more at high speeds yesterday. i drove 20 miles on the interstate and it hasnt misfired since the speedo stopped working in town. still has a high idle

Ok, this helps alot...you need a new VSS (vehicle speed sensor)
It is a little magnet that bolts to the transmission and it sends a electronic signal to the speedo as well as the ECU.
It is not only what tells the speedo how fast you are going it is also the speed limiter.
The NAS (North American Spec) DI has a speed limit of 110 mph, when you reach 110 the ECU starts to kill the fuel injectors, one at a time until it slows the truck below 110.
When the VSS starts to act up it will send a false signal to the ECU causing all kinds of problems including a non working speedo.
