Yeah, I know

I agree
But, not able to be done this time.
Previous owner had new plugs and wires he hadn't installed. I bought the mechanical parts to be sure and fix the tick the engine had. They all seemed to be common wear-out and suspect parts anyway. The oil pump's outer gear was cracked, so problem solved. At least that one.
I'm going to check for a vacuum leak next.
Strange problem, hopefully something simple.
Frustrating, none the less.

Have you ever seen or heard of a Disco not missing until after new plugs and wires, and then developing a miss, only to end up being that the old coils couldn't handle the new parts?
Sounds possible, but unlikely to me. Unless it can be common for a Disco??
I need to check some things, but trying to gather as many ideas as possible.
New coils and upper intake gasket are under $60, so not terrible to do if that doesn't fix it. But waiting on parts, and guessing it may be the problem, not so much.

I'm wondering if the temp light on and needle not moving could point to the mass air sensor being bad?
I just unplugged it and put the intake tube in the back of the Disco until I was finished.
I didn't clean the MAF either.
So nothing with it should have changed.

I ordered coil packs.
I'm not optomistic, but it'll hopefully eliminate them as a problem. Maybe I get lucky and it fixes it.
Time will tell.

Hopefully that works for you. Are you getting any codes now? As I read in the beginning there was no code but you were able to detect misfire. Could it be pending? A misfire could be pending but disappears once it completed a drive cycle. As it was mentioned a complete tuneup might do the job and that includes the coil packs. Good luck again.

Nah, no pending codes either.
Have "cleared" everything with the Hawkeye regardless, disconnected battery and let it sit a few minutes a couple times also.
It runs rough on start up, have to pedal it to keep it running, idles 5-10 seconds and dies. It seemed like it wanted to clear up and run right, then it stumbles again.
I'm sure a coil, or one of several engine sensors could be the cause, or a vacuum leak. I just can't belive there isn't at least an O2 code from rich exhaust.
The Hawkeye and the Disco ecu seem to be communicting correctly too. As I can test circuits, operate windows, I turned the alarm off, turned key chime off and back on, ect.
Coil packs should be here by Thursday, and hopefully on Friday night, Saturday afternoon.
I hate gremlins.
I only hope I can find a definate problem. That way, when the next guy wonders why there is a misfire, and no codes; hopefully I have a good answer to save them the headache.

Sorry im on phone cant view previous. But did you give your MAF a good cleaning? Saturate it with crc maf cleaner until it drips and let it dry completely. Btw, try not to remove battery or reset for the mean time. Let the ses blink if its bad and wait until code shows up. Also remove air filter after you clean maf and try to start again after its completely dry from cleaning.

I think the computer doesn't know how it should being fueling because it doesn't know what the temperature of the engine is?
