I took sparks #1 and #2 to compare them and they look exactly the same, so I went to and auto store they gave me the same codes, but they reset the computer again, but this time I actually felt a difference a smoother ride,
I don't know ifthe (check engine light) will light up again, but for now feels a little better

when the CEL is on, your system defaults to a rich mixture. You get poor mileage and performance. I would still look into Magnacor wires and Bosch plugs, I just put OEM bosch on, and I can tell she is going to beed new ones soon....

I don't believe the engine goes to open lupe and full rich when a check engine light is on, there are only certain codes that can cause this and the are rare.

ok, thanks Mike. I just know that I was sooting up the pipe horribly whith misfire codes. I had a plug wire loose. Also sooted it up with a 1496 &1497..... my filler neck had sagged, first causing a broken gas cap and then wearing through the gasket on the second. I had heard about it defaulting to rich and made sense to me, with what I saw...

I have been code free for over a month now....=)

You can have some misfires that can soot up the tail pipe but your ECU won't go full rich on it, actually the 02 sensors will try to lean out your engine to correct the unburned fuel from the bad cylinders.
