Default Missing Axle stop

I noticed while looking around underneath the frame that I am missing one of my front axle stops (bump stop). Are they totally necessary? Maybe I'm being cheap, but $45 for a piece or rubber seems crazy.

front or back? I smash into mine a lot. if you pop out a spring, have a failed air bag (if you have sls, that is a likely possibility), blow out a shock.....you will want one.
I have some of the stock ones, if you want one. you can have it for shipping(couldn't be over $5) pm addy

X2. I noticed one of my rear bump stops missing (a common occurence) which then led to more general 'in depth' inspection of the steering and suspension. To cut a long story short, I have to date, ordered about £1000 worth of parts for my D2 which I have yet to fit.

I broke my own money saving motto: "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

It's the front driver's side one, but I think they're all the same if I'm not mistaken. I suppose the spring could pop out. Yikes, I hadn't thought of that. I'll PM you my info shortly.

Bump stops cost about $10 from UK suppliers - hunt around for a better price than that $45. Dusty1 has offered the best deal you'll get, though.

Yep, all 4 corners are exactly the same and this is a more realistic price.

LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 2 1998 TO 2004 FRONT OR REAR AXLE BUMP STOP - JGS 4x4 Land Rover Parts

$45 each - are you guys made of cash , it's unusual for the US to charge more than the rip off UK

Or you can go for the Rolls Royce in bump stops and pay the price........... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Land-Rover-D...-/370814601511
