Sixeye, did you mention where it's coming from?

I have the same moaning sound coming right below me on the drivers side. I think its related to the exhaust?

Yeah, that sounds about right. I only hear it at a stop light or something like that. It's definitely not a fan sound. Thanks.

Are you sure it's not your secondary air kicking on?

Default I got it too...I think

I have an '02 also, and have the moaning/whining too. My first thought was the power steering pump, but I don't get any extra noise when turning the wheel.

If anyone has a solution, let us know!

Is the noise coming from the front? My fuel pump is audible at stop lights, but it is clearly from the back.

Do you have secondary air?

Have you checked the power steering fluid level?
Do you have ACE?

If so have you checked the ACE fluid level?

Sounds like secondary air to me. I have an 02 as well and sometimes (Maybe once a month) it will kick on at a stop light. Usually turns off before it really get to going, like 3-5 seconds. A "Moaning" sound is a good description because just as soon as it gets to speed it starts winding down.

I am not sure what a "secondary air" is? Is that bad? Does it need replacing? Thanks.
