Go to www.discoweb.org and check out their tech section, they have a write up on this, and yes, if I remember right it is that simple.

Say What??? When you say seat tracks are you referring to the part that the seat slides in or are you referring to the entire mount/frame that is bolted to the vehicle? You've got my twisted mind working over time now! There is no question that the seat will go forward further than any other seat I've ever seen. A new born could reach the wheel and pedals when the seats all the way forward. Is it possible to reverse that so it moves in the opposite direction? I'm going to have another look under my seat this weekend. Been there so many times it's a breeze! Please send more detailed guidance on this new approach. Have you ever done it? I have noticed that the slide mounts etc are attached with some type of smooth headed fastners. I couldn't figure out how to remove them. Is that required? More details please!

The discoweb article is for a non-powered seat. It doesn't look like it will work for me. I'm still going to have another look this weekend. Maybe the same concept can still be applied somehow.

I have never done it, I am all of 5'5" so I dont need more leg room.
I have heard of others doing this even with power seats.
The only thing limiting how far the seat moves is the track.

What I need is more up-and-down room (well, actually, DOWN, but if I take it down, my wife will need the "up" part...)

Any ideas?

I hacked the sunroof out of a 911 Turbo and dropped the seat rails 2 inches to give myself enough room. There's gotta be a way to make this work...

Spike, you forgot the disclaimer like the one in souljads9 link. It is sad that everyone has to warn people that what you do yourself to your own vehicle is not my responsibility, for helping you with the knowledge needed, and requested by you!

did you or anyone find a solution that would make the "electric" seat go back further.. i can't believe how forward it goes! no sits behind me and i find some people are Torso tall and some are all legs...like me. i drive now with my knees touching the dash.. seats all they back and slightly tilted. i have the seat apart right now and i see screws and what look like rivets/spot welds. looks like there is no adjustment. I need to see a picture of a successful modded seat. Seems a lot of post are missing or no pictures.

Thanks
