Default module on roof loose ground?

Doing the headliner painting today. So far so good. I have only broken 2 fasteners- one on the tail door trim (which I think I can superglue) and pulled loose one christmas tree from the B pillar trim.

To those who have done this before, or are in the know:

Upon removing the headliner from the vehicle, I have noticed a black module bolted to the roof , above the second row seats, that appears to have a ground wire that isn't attached to anything. This module is about 2" x 3" and has a part number of YWY100450. There are two wires going to it in a wuick connect; one is black, and the other is either blue or green (I am color blind, I admit). There is also another black wire coming from that harness that terminates in a ring terminal which is just free floating and not bolted to anything.

Terminating in a ring terminal, and being a black wire, I would assume it should go to ground, but the only available ground would be one of the two bolts holding the module to the roof.

My Disco has no sunroofs, or volumetric sensors.

It didn't appear that the headliner had ever been previously removed. A Google search on the part number gives me an Ebay listing for a theft/locking BCM/ECU.

Should I ground the wire or leave it hanging?

PS: I went with the chalkboard paint, so my kids can be entertained on trips, but I didn't want a black headliner, so I had a friend at O'Reilly in the paint department lighten it to a grey that matched my interior trim colors, and put it in spray cans.

pics to follow when project is done.

Mike, I do not have ACE, or SLS. I appear to have a weird model. No ACE, no SLS, no sunroofs, no rear air, but have premium sound, and leather seats. I guess I have a base model, with dealer supplied options. (?)

So, should I ground it? I have searched in Rave, but cannot locate it.

Lol Spike, the module in question does have the words, "for home or office use" on it.

Almost as weird as the piece of paper attached to the top of the headliner with the inspectors signature and date, and the Leer Corporation logo. Leer. As in Jets? Make the headliners for DIIs?

Lear Corporation made interior modules/assemblies for many vehicles. Its possible they were a supplier for Land Rover.

Leer is also the OEM brake pads and rotors.

Many companies make many cars parts and the car "maker" just puts them all together.
When I was a Safety-Kleen one of my customers made the parts for Chrysler, Mercedes, GM and BMW.
Yet another customer made dies for GM and Toyota.
Nobody makes their own stuff anymore.
That was one of the problems with tracking down the sudden acceleration problem with Toyota's, 3 different companies made the gas pedals for them.

before you put the chalkboard headliner in make sure to rub it down with cheap white chalk and then rub it all off. that preps the surface to be able to write on.
