Default Motor Mounts?

I had my 04 in the shop last week for an oil change and transmission fluid/filter service and they mentioned that I had a cracking motor mount that needed to be replaced. I went to look today, and they look practically new. Do y'all see anything wrong with these?

First pic looks like maybe the rubber is delaminating from the aluminum? You can jack the engine up lightly to see if any cracks appear, they can be hard to spot under compression. That said, yours otherwise look pretty good to me.

Yup they are starting to go, the gapping where the rubber meets the metal is the common failure point.

They're both shot. You can see the rubber has delaminated from the steel...and has been moving. Easy job to replace.

Any chance you'd mind elaborating and describing exactly what to look for in the photos that shows the issue? I have to admit that I'm not familiar with the "telltale" signs and I'd love to be able to visually inspect my rigs and be able to know exactly what I'm looking for and be able to spot it without a lot of doubt.

Default Mounts...

Picture above, drivers side mount, you can see center rubber piece has seperated from the aluminum portion that mounts to frame rail. You can see a gap, top corner of rubber.

Picture above, passengers side, center rubber portion has seperated from steel plate that mounts to engine bracket. You can see how it has shifted back past the rear edge of steel plate.

To check them further, position a floor jack under oil pan, put wood block between oil pan and jack, lift gently...if the mounts are bad...a gap will be quite obvious.

buy a shorty 18mm ratcheting wrench to make the driver side easier....not super hard but one of the driver nuts is a pain.

Agreed, based on my experience.

A ratcheting combination wrench is not necessary, but it does make life a bit easier. It's most important that you have a shorty/stubby 18 mm combination or box-end wrench, ratcheting or not.

Odds are a stubby 18 isn't in his possession as it's definitely not common and the ratcheting definitely speeds things up a ton and its not much for one on amazon. Either way works and makes things way easier.
