Default Motorad 180 Jarvik heart...yup I fell for it

So I bought a closeout Motorad 180 degree Tstat on Rockauto (I know). I am pretty sure it is more like 200 but I have a question. The hose going from the WP to the 45 degree top part of the Jarvik Heart is rock hard when hot. Like the hose clamp wont be able to take much more pressure. Is that normal?

I had one I installed a couple weeks ago. Junk. Temps ran higher than the regular OEM stat. Got the grey one from lucky8 and temps are back to 184 hwy 194 sitting in traffic.

I found the black Britpart one to be better than the OEM grey, in my experience, and 3x cheaper

You can do the inline mod with a Chevy thermo for $80. No worries about problems on the road cuz everybody has them. Runs 186 all day long on a hot summer day. In my opinion this is the best mod that I have come across on this board. The Brit that engineered that cooling system was a retard.

You don't need to cut the shroud.
