I haul a Rm 250 on a 80lb. carrier and it does make the back sag, also make your headlights aim high. I think I will get some airbags like Fonzie.I hooked up some taillights on my carrier because the carrier was in the way of the bumper turn signals. I like to put a extra strap to the spare tire carrier and hooked to the handlebar just as a safety strap. Hey Fonzie let us know how you like those airbags onyourDiscovery.

I know, it looks like abuse, but don't worry I'll beInstalling the airbags before I try this again. I'll post up "After" photos so we can see the difference the airbags make to the attitude of the rig.

OK, here's the "After" pic. I've actually had the AirLift installed for a few weeks now, but today was the first time I had the bike back on there again for another trip to the dealer. The photo was taken at almost the exact same place and time of day...makes comparing easier.

As you can see there is considerably less sag, and it's a whole lot more stable on the freeway. But you still have to be more careful and aware than when driving without the extra load as the steering is lighter. Around town you forget it's there.

It would be perfect for the Trans America Trail. You could bike it or drive it, depending on how beat you are.

You can set them anywhere from 5-35psi max. I inflate them to the max 35psi since my bikes are quite heavy. You must keep a minimum pressure of 5psi in the bags at all times to prevent them from getting pinched by the coils. If you get the optional compressor, it comes with a regulatorswitch that will automatically kick on thecompressor if the pressure ever drops below 5psi andwill also kick it off once you reach 35psi, to prevent you from overinflating them.If you're thinking about installing yourself, it's really easy, you don't even need to remove the coil springs. Just disconnect thelower end of the rear shocks and lower the axel to full extension...there's plenty of room to squish the airbag inbetween the coils. The procedure is covered in the instructions.
