Default Mounting new ARB bumper

Well my new ARB Sahara bumper just arrived yesterday. It looks awesome, but after looking it over it appears that it is designed to mount to the OEM crush can bumper mounts. Although Im sure these aluminum brackets will hold the bumper, I am not so sure that they will hold up for doing any winching. Do other winch bumpers mount to these brackets? Should I have some brackets made that are steel? Am I just being overly concerned about nothing? Just looking for any input from anyone who has been down this road before. Thanks. BTW my Disco is an 03.

Yet another reason the DI is better than the DII, no crush cans and non airbag ARB bumpers too.
Now, for your question, no, the OEM cans will not be suitable for winching and you will need to fab up something else.
I think there is a kit you can buy but I'm not 100% sure.

My 03 bull bar doesn't use ANY of the stock mounting stuff. No OEM crush can's or anything.

(spike's D1 bias is often based more on opinion than on fact. I've owned both by the way).

Here is a photo of the mounting of the D2 bull bar. I'm not sure how similar it is to the fancier one you've got.

Wilson, send me your number and I'll walk you thru how you can really strengthen that poor design.

Ok, maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am. I guess I will find out next week when we install this thing.
