MP3 player

MP3 player
Has anyone used the wiring harness for the Disco CD player and worked out which wires can be used for power and audio input to the stereo to hook up an MP3 player. Let's face it CD's are now old history and the players are expensive to repair/replace. Surely the cabling can be reused to both power and take the audio from eg. an Ipod. Let me know if you have done this and the cable colors.

RE: MP3 player
I have looked into this before for my Disco2, but have never tackled it. It is my understanding (for the Disco2) that the head unit has to believe that there is still a CD changer hooked up and that a CD is loaded. I have heard of people tapping into the left/right signal wires going from the changed to the head unit to feed in the MP3 signal, then just leaving a CD in the changer. Atlantic Britich sells an adapter for the Disco2 that apparently serves this function. I know that a company called Peripheral was making a unit for a while that would let you keep the CD changer hooked up, but also give you a set of AUX inputs, but I think that may not be available anymore as I have not been able to find it lately.

RE: MP3 player
I'm also looking at the same fix for the mp3 player. Someone out there must have the 13 pin wiring diagram to the cd changer end. The flat double tear female plug into the changer. Ive seen the round end diagram that plugs in to the headunit but that doesn't really help. I dont want to take the radio out to figure out whats, what . All thatwe need is the color coding or pin numbering diagram so we can justsplice inan A/B switchfor the Anolog signal. Can anyone help before I take everything apart andputthe meter to it. I hate to piggy back on someone else time but it would be nice!
